Angels can clinch playoff berth by beating Mariners
If the Mariners are to remain in the playoff picture, they’ll need to succeed against a team that doesn’t often lose. Beginning Monday, the Mariners will play the first of seven remaining games against the American League West-leading Angels, starting a four-game set in Anaheim. The Angels can clinch a postseason berth with a win over the Mariners, who trail the Royals by one game for the second AL Wild Card spot. Seattle’s Hisashi Iwakuma squares off with the Halos’ Matt Shoemaker.
