Nix earns victory in Major League debut

The Padres rode a strong MLB debut from Jacob Nix to a 2-0 victory over the Phillies on Friday night at Petco Park, for their fourth win in their last five games. Nix started his MLB career with six scoreless innings, striking out four, walking two and yielding four hits against the National League East-leading Phillies for his first MLB win. Austin Hedges’ solo homer on a 2-for-3 night led the Padres’ offense.
