Ankiel eyeing comeback as reliever in ’19

After telling Yahoo Sports’ Tim Brown last week that he was “toying with” the idea of trying to return to the pros as a pitcher — more than five years removed from his last Major League game and nearly 14 years after his last pitching appearance — Rick Ankiel was more definitive Monday in a TV appearance on Fox Sports Midwest, saying he’s serious about making a comeback on the mound.
