Carpenter cranks 29th blast, tied atop NL HR list

Matt Carpenter moved in front of Nolan Arenado for the National League lead with his 29th home run of the season in the fifth inning of Sunday’s game at PNC Park. The 363-foot blast off Pittsburgh’s Trevor Williams broke a scoreless game and started a two-run inning for St. Louis.
