D-backs make 5-run first hold up vs. Giants
Paul Goldschmidt hit his 200th career homer to highlight a five-run first inning and help the D-backs hold off the Giants, 6-3, on Friday in the second game of a four-game series. Patrick Corbin allowed three runs in six innings and struck out eight for the D-backs. Evan Longoria, Austin Slater and Buster Posey each had two hits for the Giants, but Posey left in the third inning to be examined for concussion symptoms after taking a foul ball off the face mask in the first inning.
