Archer chased in 5th, but Bucs top Cards late
Chris Archer struggled in his Pirates debut, allowing five runs (four earned) in 4 1/3, but Adam Frazier broke a late tie with an RBI single to hand Pittsburgh a win in the opener. The Cardinals had 15 hits, but stranded 16 runners and had three men thrown out on the bases. Frazier and Starling Marte had three hits apiece, while Gregory Polanco had three RBIs and an assist at the plate.
