Musgrove’s gem vs. hometown Friars fuels Bucs’ win

Joe Musgrove threw seven shutout innings, and the Pirates scored four in the third inning to take the series opener against the Padres, 6-3, on Friday. Gregory Polanco went 2-for-4 with two RBI to help the Pirates begin their West Coast swing with a win. Eric Lauer allowed six runs, three earned, and six hits in five innings for the Padres, who have lost five of their past six games.
