CC masterful as Yankees power past Red Sox
Supported by back-to-back homers from Miguel Andujar and Greg Bird, who hit two — plus Aaron Judge’s team-leading 21st blast — CC Sabathia rose to the occasion for what he called his club’s most important games of the season to date, hurling seven sparkling innings to lead the Yankees past the Red Sox. Andrew Benintendi hit an RBI double, and Steve Pearce had two hits in his Boston debut — including a double on the first pitch he saw — but starter Eduardo Rodriguez struggled.
