Gordon’s speed lifts Mariners to sweep of O’s
There’s just no stopping the Mariners when a game goes to extras. Thursday’s 10-inning win over the Orioles marked Seattle’s 14th consecutive extra-inning win, dating back to last season. Nelson Cruz got the Mariners on the board with his 21st homer of the season, and Mike Leake held Baltimore to two runs — on home runs by Manny Machado and Chris Davis in the fourth — in his fifth quality start in June. Dee Gordon hustled out an infield single and scored on a bobble by Colby Rasmus to put Seattle ahead in the 10th. Cruz added an insurance run with an RBI single.
