New acquisitions lead Padres past Cubs

Two new acquisitions propelled the Padres to an 8-3 win over the Cubs on a chilly Wednesday night in front of 30,718 at Wrigley Field. Yangervis Solarte and Jeff Francoeur, who each woke up in different time zones on Tuesday, reached base five times in a combined eight at-bats with three hits, two walks, three runs scored and two RBIs.
