For Players Weekend, a ‘Chicken’ special

Managers and coaches are taking part in a collaborative effort between Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association from Aug. 25-27, when uniformed personnel will wear nicknames on the backs of their jerseys. Brewers manager Craig Counsell is going with “Chicken,” a moniker bestowed long ago because of his unusual batting stance, with arms overhead and his arms flapping like wings.
