Matz has surgery to reposition ulnar nerve

Steven Matz’s season-ending surgery was successful, the Mets announced during Wednesday’s 4-2 win over the D-backs. The left-hander underwent a procedure to “decompress and reposition the ulnar nerve in his left elbow” and it was performed at the Hospital for Special Surgery.
