Lakers’ Bryant suffers torn rotator cuff

Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, who injured his right shoulder in the second half of last night’s game against the Pelicans in New Orleans, had an MRI exam Thursday in San Antonio. Preliminary results from the MRI show a tear of the rotator cuff. Bryant will return to Los Angeles later Thursday and will be examined by team doctors tomorrow. An update on his condition will be issued at that time.
