McClendon: Success for Mariners starts with preparation

A year ago, Lloyd McClendon was one of the new guys at the Winter Meetings, just taking over a Mariners club with more questions than answers and looking to make his mark with a team coming off its fourth straight losing season. But McClendon now brings a year’s experience in Seattle and increased expectations with a club that just missed an American League Wild Card spot in 2014.
