Verlander shows glimpses of old self to edge D-backs

The Tigers pulled out a 4-3 win in the series opener against the D-backs on Monday at Chase Field, winning their second straight after a four-game losing streak. Torii Hunter and Austin Jackson homered before Miguel Cabrera tallied the go-ahead RBI single in the seventh to give Justin Verlander his ninth victory.
