Abreu decides to retire after 18 seasons

Longtime Major League outfielder Bobby Abreu, a veteran of 18 big league seasons with six teams, on Friday announced his retirement. Abreu, who will finish his career with the Mets this weekend, is a .291 career hitter with a .395 on-base percentage and 288 home runs.
