Royals drop playoff magic number to one
There was no clinching of a postseason berth, no end to a 28-year drought, no clubhouse party for the Kansas City Royals on Thursday night at U.S. Cellular Field. But the Royals did move closer to that happy moment with a 6-3 victory over the White Sox. Lorenzo Cain had four hits and Eric Hosmer homered.
