James Paxton struck out nine in six sharp innings, reaching 200 strikeouts for the first time in his career, as the Mariners beat the Rangers, 4-1, on Saturday. Edwin Diaz locked down his 57th save to tie Bobby Thigpen for the second-most saves in a season in Major League history. Adrian Sampson allowed two earned runs in 6 2/3 innings for the Rangers.
