Mets start September with Matz’s 11-K gem

Steven Matz struck out a career-high 11 batters and fired seven innings of one-run ball for the second straight start on Saturday and took a no-decision in the Mets’ extra-inning win over the Giants. Left-hander Derek Holland held New York to one run on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts, but the Giants mustered just three hits and struck out 16 times.
